Lübech Living’s Symbols

We understand that transparency is crucial when it comes to sustainability. That’s why it’s important to Lübech Living that our customers know the story behind each product.

Since 2014, Lübech Living has used our symbols as a communication tool designed to provide customers with an overview and deeper understanding of each product’s functional and responsible values.

The symbols help our customers shop based on specific sustainable values and ensure that the product’s attributes are accurately communicated during resale.

The symbols represent overarching values, and we encourage everyone to read the detailed descriptions of each product before making a purchase.

What do the symbols stand for?

Lübech Living has developed our own sustainable symbol guide. The aim of Lübech Living’s symbol guide is to make our business transparent and to make it easy to make a sustainable purchase at Lübech Living. The symbols tell Lübech Living’s sustainable production, social responsibility and the functional characteristics of each product.

We hope the symbols will guide you to an easy and good sustainable purchase with us.

Sustainable Production

Common for the OOhh and OOhhx products is that they are handmade and developed from recyclable materials, and are part of a sustainable production. We use nature’s own power to produce our interior. We dry our Zero Waste paper and paper products in natural sunlight. Our ovens are powered by our own solar energy system and we recycle water from production.

All packaging is reduced to a minimum and made of resp. recycled materials and degradable materials.

In our wish to protect our nature we are always exploring sustainable production methods that make the least possible impact on our climate.

Recycled Materials

Our collections are created from recycled materials that leave minimal print on our climate. Among other things, we transform plastic and paper waste into beautiful Danish Design collections. Just as we use Zero Waste paper, -textile, -wool and -leather.

Social Responsibility

By choosing a product with this symbol, you support Lübech Living’s work to support less privileged people in Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand and thereby help to provide stability, permanent work and income to these people and create both economic as well as social growth in these areas.

Handmade

This symbol tells that the product is handmade and thus leaves a minimal CO2 footprint in production. Like it tells you that you choose a product that cherishes the traditional unique handicraft.

Eco-nested

Eco-nested

This symbol means that every other pot is 1 cm wider than the others. Thereby we can nest 2 pots of the same height and reduce the volume almost 50% and thus reduce the CO2 footprint during both our import and export.

Solar Energy

The solar energy symbol has two functions. For all paper products and baskets we use the natural outdoor sunlight to dry our products. For the ceramic production we use solar energy and a water reusing system in order to minimize the CO2 footprint.

Zero Waste

Our Zero Waste concept is a great example of the future’s eco-friendly development where we reuse waste material in order to eliminate the transportation of waste, the process of turning waste into new recycled materials and the transport to new consumers. In Lübech Living you will experience Zero Waste paper, felt and carpets.

Biodegradable

The biodegradable symbol is your guarantee that the product is made of degradable materials and therefore an environmentally friendly choice.

Long Burn Hours

This symbol indicates that the candle has exceptionally long burn hours above market standards. Thereby we can produce less candles as well as reduce transport of candles versus candles with fewer burn hours.

Vegan Friendly

When choosing vegan friendly you contribute to minimize your environmental footprint. This accounts for CO2 emission, use of land, pollution of oceans and water consumption.
